Check Out The Institute's New Web Site
The Institute Online has been re-architected and re-designed. The new Web site is a much more suitable environment to showcase IEEE members and their activities and better promote IEEE and its products and services.

What's new? Content is now easier to find because it's been separated into channels: People, Tech Focus, Benefits, Briefings, Opinions, Region News, and Career and Education. And there's more content: Slideshows, some created with images from IEEE History Center, videos from IEEE.tv and members, and podcasts based on interviews conducted by The Institutes writers now supplement the text articles. And readers can get their Institute news via RSS feeds.

The Institute's staff also is aiming to build an active online community around member news on the site. Theres a page devoted to news from IEEE regions and a submission form for members to use to submit news about their local IEEE activities. An area where members can submit story ideas is also featured. Members can share their opinions with others by using the commenting tools that accompany each article, including The Institutes most popular feature, Question of the Month. They can also share articles with colleagues via Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter.

Another new feature is The Institute Online blog, IEEE Roundup. This blog, written by the editors, will update members on what is happening around IEEE, report on members whove been mentioned in the media, and provide information on upcoming meetings and conferences. The editors will also be inviting prominent IEEE members and experts to offer commentary.

Check out The Institute at www.theinstitute.ieee.org.
