Warn your moms about this one, my mom just got a call like this, from her "grandson" (this caller did not give a name, just called her Grandma, and said he was in Madrid, but it matched up pretty well otherwise, down to the wedding, broken nose, and jail)...
It seems like a really cruel scam esp. for people who don't have an easy way to contact their grandchildren.
I gather the police won't investigate it as long as you didn't send the money.
