indigenous peoples day 2026 colorado

https://share.google/aimode/n0oO4EFnIx4usqdEV

In 2026, Indigenous Peoples' Day is celebrated on Monday, October 12. [1]
What is Indigenous Peoples' Day?
This day honors the history, culture, and traditions of Native Americans. It is celebrated every year on the second Monday of October. It happens on the same day as Columbus Day to focus on the Native people who lived on the land first. [1, 2]
Is it a holiday in Colorado?
  • City Closures: Many city and county government offices in Colorado (like Denver and Boulder) are closed on this day. [1, 2]
  • Schools and Businesses: Some schools and universities are closed or hold special events, but regular businesses might stay open. It is best to check with your local school district or office. [1]
Main Events in Colorado (2026)
Many communities hold free public events with traditional music, dancing, and food:
  • Denver: The city is hosting "The Crossroads of Native Country" celebration at City Park featuring multi-tribal gatherings, music, and art. The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is also hosting a special movie screening. [1, 2]
  • Boulder: The University of Colorado Boulder is hosting community luncheons and educational talks throughout the week. Local studios are also hosting Aztec dancing, drumming, and food workshops. [1, 2, 3]
  • Fort Collins: Students and community members are celebrating on the plaza at Colorado State University with cultural events. [1]
If you are looking for activities in a specific area, tell me which Colorado city you are in, and I can find local events close to you.

only skilled trade workers and neurodivergent individuals will succeed in the artificial intelligence era?

Palantir CEO Alex Karp Says Only Trade Workers and Neurodivergent ...
Palantir CEO Alex Karp stated that only skilled trade workers and neurodivergent individuals will succeed in the artificial intelligence era. [1]
The Two Groups for Career Survival
  • Skilled trade workers: Professions like electricians, plumbers, and mechanics require physical presence, manual dexterity, and real-world judgment that AI and automation struggle to replicate. Demand for these roles also grows as tech companies build physical infrastructure like data centers. [1, 2]
  • Neurodivergent individuals: People with conditions like ADHD, autism, or dyslexia often think non-linearly, reframe problems, and reject standard playbooks, offering the creative, unconventional mindset needed for breakthroughs. [1, 2]
Public and Forum Reactions
Opinions are mixed on platforms like Facebook regarding this prediction. While many agree that manual labor and non-linear cognitive styles possess strong resilience against AI, critics argue that Karp's view is overly simplistic and underestimates the diverse paths available in the future job market. Palantir backs this philosophy internally through initiatives like its dedicated Palantir Neurodivergent Fellowship. [1, 2, 3]
Would you like to explore Palantir's specific hiring programs for neurodivergent talent or look into how other tech executives view AI's impact on white-collar jobs?

how-to-hike-in-wildfire-smoke-without-destroying-your-lungs? AQI 150, (K)N95, effort, duration, water

https://share.google/aimode/8CLVNsh7soR5ooFJE

To hike safely during wildfire season, check the Air Quality Index (AQI) beforehand, keep your effort level low, and carry a certified N95 mask. When air quality is unhealthy (AQI over 150 or visibility under 5 miles), the best choice is to postpone your hike, as heavy breathing pulls massive amounts of fine particles deep into your lungs. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Monitor Air Quality and Conditions
  • Check apps and tools like AirNow or local fire tracking maps before heading out.
  • Turn around immediately if you feel dizzy, wheeze, cough, or experience shortness of breath.
  • Avoid low valleys where toxic smoky air pools overnight when choosing when and where to move. [1, 3, 5, 6]
Gear and Protection Strategies
  • Pack a certified N95 or KN95 respirator in your pack; basic cloth bandannas, buffs, and fashion dust masks do not filter fine smoke particulate matter.
  • Opinions are mixed on Facebook regarding masks: while some hikers use N95 respirators to catch ash during smoky stretches, many community members argue that if conditions require a respirator, you should skip the outdoor exertion entirely.
  • Slow your pace and cut your daily mileage to keep your heart rate and respiration low.
  • Drink extra water to help your throat and upper airways clear out trapped debris. [1]
If you share your planned trail location or current local AQI, I can help you decide whether it is safe to head out or suggest an indoor alternative.
